| There passes much time when
one is buoyed in the realm of rest
and sleep. So it was with the child
goddess as she healed her gathered
wounds. In time she became restored,
warmed by the still glowing energy
she held so tightly to her.
As Aiia woke, she saw about her
a near endless world of close cloying
substance. The liquid flowed about
her, a new and exciting feeling.
Though darkness prevailed in this
place, Aiia could see as clearly
as if it was the brightest day.
Never had she felt so enclosed,
so protected. The substance around
her was as a mothers embrace. Aiia
felt the nurturing nature of the
strange waters and reveled in it.
Unknown to the young goddess, the
water she walked through was flesh,
and the posessor of that flesh after
a time began to notice the small
creature entrapped within. Curious
of the nature of this new little
mind, it prepared to speak to Aiia.
"Where wander you, little bug."
the voice came to Aiia as the rush
of a thousand waves.
"I greet you!" She called
out to the darkness. Much to her
astonishment, two great spots of
azure glowed before her as eyes.
"You greet me? For what purpose?"
"For the purpose that you
shan't do away with me, powerful
as you are!"
The great glowing orbs dimmed and
brightened in an eternal watery
heartbeat.
"What is it you wish of me?"
"Great creature of closeness
and warmth, I ask only your permission
to live and work within you. The
Void winds are cold and sharp, your
body protects me!"
"What is your work, little
goddess?"
Aiia took breath in and expelled
it fearfully.
"I wish to make new souls,
great creature. If I may ask of
you...please tell me your name,
so that I may know you."
The spots glowed and dimmed.
"I am Sylrien."
"Then Sylrien, I entreat of
you, allow my endeavor to go forth.
I have traveled unspeakable terrain
to come here...and I fear without
a place in your flesh to hold, I
shall wander until my own spark
of life has dimmed to naught, and
my purpose forever forgot."
The creature that was Sylrien thought
then, and to Aiia it felt as if
half an age had passed, though in
truth it was only tens of years.
Then...the answer came forth.
"I shall allow you to do this.
You may create what you will, as
you now have home and hearth to
do so."
And so was made the pact of Aiia
and Sylrien.
